GFBA Architects has a long history of retail design experience at all levels and capacities. As our list of selected projects indicates, we are proficient in the areas of retail design, planning, and construction documentation, from large projects such as regional shopping centers and enclosed malls to small projects such as Petco, Kinko’s or Noah’s Bagels, and everything in between.
Our core associates have a collective total of more than 40 years in the retail design business. We are up to the task in any type of commercial design, be it department stores, big box merchandisers, specialty store design, tenant improvement, or regional shopping centers.
GFBA Architects has a distinguished history of senior housing design including two award-winning projects. Senior housing is the second biggest segment of our diversified portfolio. Our past experience includes a HUD-financed project for the Hollywood Redevelopment Agency for Arirang Senior Housing which garnered several design nominations and awards. Additionally, we provided the winning entry in an open competition sponsored by the City of Lancaster’s Redevelopment Agency for the Herald Tract Senior Housing Project.
We are experienced in residential design including single family dwellings, multi-family residential from low-income housing to luxury condominiums, and senior housing. Currently, we have a 63-unit multi-family housing project in production in Silverlake, CA.
Part of GFBA’s success story has been the ability to work in a wide spectrum of architectural vernaculars. In the past, GFBA has worked with Universal Studios amusement parks on rides and retail, Edwards Theaters and Pacific Cinemas, as well as Radisson and Sheraton Hotels.
Our ability to coordinate the various disciplines required to complete such projects has been the reason GFBA is selected for various Entertainment and Hospitality projects.
GFBA has designed numerous master plans for both governmental agencies and developers alike. From a proposed re-design of downtown Indio, CA, to a Time-Share Resort complex in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, we have the ability to design on any scale to suit the individual needs of our clients.
The “flow” of a home is one of the most important aspects of residential design. Our understanding of this concept helps us create luxury residential homes that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but comfortable as well.
GFBA first entered the Luxury Residential market when the CEO of a Construction Company requested that we design a 6700 Square foot estate for him and his family. Since that time, we have designed estates for individual’s, as well as master planned luxury communities for home builders.
GFBA has helped construct millions of square feet of office space. Our extensive knowledge of the industry combined with that of our consultants enables us to design based on both current and classic trends in commercial architecture.
Additionally, we understand that healthcare providers require facilities that can be extremely complex. As such, we strive to create spaces that are flexible enough to accommodate constant changes. The result is the production of a timely, cost effective and reliable product.
